Fire Weather Watch vs Red Flag Warning -- what's the difference?
A Fire Weather Watch is issued several days before an event that may produce critical fire weather conditions.
Fire Weather Watch will convert to Red Flag Warning when critical fire danger is increased.
Today, 10/23, the National Weather Service has issued a Fire weather Watch for the North Bay Mountains and Valleys, East Bay Hills and Valleys, Diablo Range, and Santa Cruz Mountains and is valid from 11 AM PDT Sunday 10/25 through 11 AM PDT Tuesday 10/27.
