MEASURE U SENIOR LOW-INCOME EXEMPTION FORM
Instructions: File by June 30, 2020. This application serves to request the Measure U Senior LowIncome Exemption. To qualify for this exemption, you must be 65 years of age or older by December 31, 2019, own and occupy your residence located in the Southern Marin Fire Protection District, and your combined household income is at or below the following thresholds.
The total gross household income from all these sources, including social security, for the 2018 calendar year does not exceed the following: (Note: These limits are prior year HUD data. If your income is below these thresholds, you will likely qualify for an exemption and can send the form in early. 2019 data is set to be released by April 1, 2020. We will update this form as soon as HUD releases the new data.)
- For a single-person household: $82,200
- For a two-person household: $93,950
- For a three-person household: $105,700
- For a four-person household: $117,400
- For a five-person household: $126,800
In order to meet the deadline to qualify for the exemption on your September 2020-2021 tax bill, you must file your request by June 30, 2020.
You must reapply each year to keep the exemption in effect.
If you qualify, please complete and sign the Declaration of Exemption to the Southern Marin Fire Protection District 2020-2021 Measure U Tax Form. Once completed, return the form to:
